A Sad Day

Later today I'll be selling off my Seiko SKX009, something I will regret in time to come no doubt, it being my favourite watch in the collection. It has won competition from watches three to four times more expensive then it. Yet, it still has to go as I need to free up some funds for other pursuits in life. Words alone won't do this watch justice, may your new owner treat you well, and a final farewell to a very fine watch indeed!

I think I'm done with mechanical watches for awhile, until my finances are capable of keeping up with this hobby of mine. Perhaps I should go back to my quartz watches, I've been neglecting them.

Catch and Release

Sorry folks, looks like I'll have to disappoint; there will be no review of the Ocean Two. Unfortunately, it was a catch and release. For those not in the WIS scene, a catch and release is a quick purchase, followed by flipping it just as quickly.

The usual reasons are because the watch just doesn't click with the owner somehow. It certainly was in my case; a handsome watch with curved lugs that create a very attractive silhouette. The skeletonized hands were very pleasing as well. However, what put me off was the size of the watch. At 52mm lug to lug, this watch was bigger than I could accept. Therefore, to the Steinhart Ocean Two, may your new owner treat you well and adieu to you!
